Black eye

On Saturday I went to Cedar Point’s Halloweekend with Christian, Katina, and her boyfriend Jerrell. It was a lot of fun despite the 40 degree weather. After each rollercoaster we rode I could barely feel my face.  We even got to ride the Maverick which we waited two hours for! At night we went thru two haunted houses; the first was set up to resemble a toy factory and the other one a corn field. As we were leaving, Christian thought it’d be a good idea to pick me up and run. His shoe laces came undone and we ended up falling. My face smacked the concrete super hard and it swelled up within minutes. I’ve had a headache ever since and a bruise under my right eye. Attractive much?

Bootie

On Sunday while at work my manager accidentally kicked me in my right leg and gave me one hell of a bruise. I've never seen a bruise form that fast. After work Christian and I went to see Jennifer's Body. It was a crazy movie. Some of the lines were very corny yet we were entertained the entire two hours. Yesterday I decided to purchase some shoes for the hell of it. My current shoe collection consists of Converses, flats, and cowboy boots lol. I can't really walk in heels therefore I don't wear them but for whatever reason I bought these...

The heels on these bad boys are 4.25 inches. Whaaaaaaaa? I know they aren't the best shoes to learn how to walk in but I gotta start somewhere. But I was curious as to what I could pair these shoes with. I was thinking leggings and a button-up shirt. Any other suggestions?

Jesus saves, I spend

After a busy five hour shift at work and an arguement with Christian, I came home and did a little online shopping. I spent $96.00 on an outfit and jacket from Forever21. I really can't wait to try the jacket on. It's faux leather...something I've been wanting to buy for a very long time. In the near future I plan to purchase Kim Kardashian's exercise dvds. In all honesty I would kill for her butt. Today Christian and I went to Target and Giant Eagle. I finally bought Morning Star Farm products; veggie burgers and "chicken" strips. I'm making "chicken" alfredo for dinner tonight. Christian's coming over after work and we're staying in for dinner and a movie. I hope this "chicken" is as good as they say it is.

My purchases... )

veggie-ma-tarian

Since Christian and I were both off of work on Monday, we had dinner at a vegetarian restaurant named Tommy's that I found via Yelp. The service wasn't great but the food wasn't too bad. Christian had a veggie burger which he let me try and I thought was delicious. As for me, I had their "Dee-lite" which was refried beans, mozz & parmesan cheese, and a variety of spices all served on a toasted pita. I finished half of it and took the rest home. I think it's awesome that Christian supports me in my decision to no longer eat meat. Just the other day he suggested we do take-out at Winking Lizards but because I can't eat half of the food there, we went to Dunkin' Donuts for their veggie flatbread sandwich and fruit blast smoothies. They also served non-vegetarian/vegan dishes at Tommy's but he said that he wants to eat what I eat when I'm around. Like the other night we ordered Taco Bell and he ordered a taco salad minus the meat for me. How sweet. Also a few days ago his dad was grilling hamburgers and since his dad knows I've recently gone vegetarian, he made potatos that I could eat. Last night my mom made chicken for dinner but made me yams and cucumber slices. I think I talk too much about food.

Adam

If you see any movie this summer please let it be Adam. This movie was amazing and definitely a tear jerker. I enjoyed it more than 500 Days of Summer...just a little bit. It's heartbreaking, inspiring and quirky. It reminded me a lot of The Science of Sleep. Adam's trailer can be found after the cut. Do yourself a favor and check it out. It'll change your life.

Hugh Dancy is yummy )

New soul

Saturday: Christian and I went to the mall. I got two dresses (he bought me one of them), a necklace and a manicure. I also talked him into getting a striped v-neck from American Eagle. After stopping off at his dad's and Target for hair products and a strapless bra, we were on our way to my house to get ready. Our reservation was for 8:30 but we didn't get to the restaurant till 8:50-ish. Oops. My friend Charnetta was already down there waiting. Once we were sat and greeted by our waitress we were ready for another restaurant. The menu wasn't much of a variety and not to mention our waitress had a pretty bad attitude. She even switched us with another server. Bitch. We canceled our drink orders and headed to the Hard Rock Cafe where CJ & Greg met us. Our server this time was much better and the food was yummy.

Sunday: After spending nearly two hours getting dressed, Christian and I finally left for what he said was a "surprise". We arrived at Cleveland's Art Museum. I haven't been since I was a little girl. My mom use to take me all the time. I was so excited. The exhibits were amazing! I'm so glad we went. After the museum we stopped for gelato and then headed back to my house. I took a nap and he watched Rent. Later that night I went out with Mickey to a carnival. He bought me a corndog and we played games. We won bead necklaces and he won for me a pink teddy bear. After the carnival we went to the movies to see The Orphan. It was scary. I liked it. I got home around 11:45 and there was a birthday bag from my mom waiting for me on the dining room table. Inside was one of the sweetest card I've ever read and a bottle of Daisy by Marc Jacobs. I can't tell you how long I've waited to buy this perfume. It smells sooooo pretty. I went to bed kind of early because I'm still a little sick.

Monday: HAPPY NINETEENTH BIRTHDAY TO ME!

We came, we saw, we ate

It happened people....I finally went to Sonic. Christian and I were making brownies at my house when we found out that Sonic doesn't close till twelve. We had little less than an hour to make it to our destination so we literally ran to the car and drove for 20 minutes. We went for the car-hop service and ordered onion rings, mozz sticks, hamburger, chicken club, french toast sticks, and two strawberry limeade chillers. We could barely finish it all. My favorite part was the strawberry limeade. It was delish. Our night ended with happy tummys. What a great way to start off my birthday weekend!

California Dreamin'

On Monday Christian and I decided to take a mini road trip to Geneva Beach which is approximately an hour away from where we live. The city of Geneva was very country and a little behind on time. Once we got there we sat on the sand and munched on snacks, listened to music from the 70s, and played frisbee. I'd be safe and warm if I was in L.A. )

My fourth of July

...was spent with Christian and his family. We went to see Fireworks in the Italian part of Ohio City. It was guido galore! Hair gel and fake tans everywhere. The entire street was one huge party. There was a DJ, streamers, food, etc. Everyone was dancing, drinking and shooting off their own fireworks. On the next street over were these condos that I hope to live in one day. We left around eleven and I slept over. On Sunday I helped paint Christian's new room. We sprayed his closet walls with spray paint. I wrote "I ♥ Iyonna" in red so every time he gets dressed he'll think of me. Later that night we got snacks at CVS and drove around. +1 )

Guess who's coming to dinner

Christian came over yesterday. We watched Confetti - a mockumentary about three couples who are competing for the "Most Original Wedding" award. The movie was slow but I liked the concept. After the movie we made dinner. It's always interesting when we make dinner together. Christian has no idea what to do when it comes to preparing food and then we usually break out in random dance. After dinner, we cleaned up and he let me dress him up in a leotard, a skirt, and one of my mom's wigs. I laughed so hard I swear I almost pee'd.

Isn't life already in 3D?

Glasses, originally uploaded by dirty iyonna.

Christian and I went to see Up yesterday. It was such a great movie. It had plenty of funny scenes and some sad scenes as well. I must admit I almost cried. As far as 3D goes...it just made the movie more fun to watch but it definitely isn't necessary. I think I would've enjoyed the movie either way. Squirrel! )

The dingo ate your baby

Golden Ponyboy, originally uploaded by goodie two shoes.

I went to the zoo today with Christian and his family. It's undergoing a lot of construction so there wasn't as much stuff to see, but I still had fun.

Who you 'gon call?

Yesterday was my niece's birthday party. She's 11. I brought Christian along since he and I were going to see X-Men Origins: Wolverine later on. We were having pretty good of a time until he found some way to ruin it. Whatever. I enjoyed Wolverine and the arguement these two guys in the theatre had. Hahaha. After the movie we went to the mall where I bought an off-the-shoulder shirt from American Eagle. We came back to my house and watched the boring Celtics vs. Bulls game. He left a little bit later and around 10:30p Nick and I went to see Ghostbusters. The Rocky Horror Picture Show was the same night and a lot of people were dressed up in costume. It was...interesting. They had a marshmellow eating contest before the movie and the kid who Nick said was going to win because he was in an "action stanze"; won. The movie was great and I had a lot of fun.

Slap da bass big time

After having a bad week, my weekend turned out to be much better. On Saturday I hung out with Nick. We went to the city to the Academy of Art University's open house. It wasn't as "artsy" as I thought it would be, so we bounced to the mall next door where we were carded by a security guard. I guess you have to be a certain age? Since he's 21 and I 18 we were good to go. After the mall we went to the movies to see I Love You Man where we were not carded. Go figure. The movie was hilarious though! After the movie we got food and talked for awhile. He's pretty much into the same movies and music as I am. It's nice that we share the same intrests. He's also very funny. Later that night Christian came over to hang out. Today Xtian and I went to the library and to get ice cream. We came back to my place to watch Slumdog Millionaire because he's never seen it. I held back my tears at the end this time.

Electric Avenue

I had my interview on Friday at 4:30PM. I showed up 10 minutes early and wasn't interviewed until 5:00. After the interview Xtian and I went to the movies to see The Haunting in Connecticut. The story line was a little hard to follow but it really was scary. I kept grabbing onto X's arm. Even he was jumping! We're sissys. After the movies we went to Dewey's; a cafe in Shaker Square that I found via Yelp. Their chai tea is so good. I stayed up till about 3AM chatting with this kid named Nick who loves Scrubs and John Mayer as much as I do. We "met" through Twitter but we went to the same high school. On Saturday I went to see Knowing with my mom. It reminded me of The Day the Earth Stood Still except Nicolas Cage isn't as good looking as Keanu Reeves.

I figured it out )
